This is one of the oldest churches of Brussels, and the last with houses built round it. Het huidig inkomsThe actual entrance porche is dated from only about the yaers 1950 because in the past the church had a bell-tower. This bell-tower collapsed in 1367 for a first time , was destroyed completely later during the bombardments of Brussels in 1695 and collapsed again for the third time under the overweight of the new belfry, it was not rebuilt afterwards. In the back of the church you can still see above the porche a cannon ball from the bombardments of 1695. (with our thanks to Yannick Du Bois)
