Between 1774 and 1776 the architect from Leuven Claude Fisco has sketched this uniform place. It was the first of the Brussels places together with the Royal Place to be sletched on the drawing table. This was a real estate operation on the initiative of the town of Brussels whereby a unique uniform fassade concept was ordered for the 56 parcels. There is a crypte and a monument for the dead of the septemberrevolution, whereby Belgium was liberated, since 1836-38 in the middle of the place. For several years this place is an exemple for Fasadism and the hoveling of Brussels. (with thanks to Jurgen Coysman)
