The garden was layed out in 1890 . The garden aswell as the 48 statues that
decorate the pallissade were designed by the architect Hendrik Beyaert. The 48
little statues depict the medieval professions of the town. The middle statue of Count
Egmont and Hoorn stood in front of the Breadhouse until 1879 on the Great
