Montaigle and Falaën were rented to Gilles Polchet, the mayor of Bouvignes, in 1628. His grandson, Charles Polchet, was knighted by Filips IV. He ordered the building of the actual gentry farm.

The turrets, and the image that makes think of a castle accentuate the influence of the young nobleman. The living part, made of more elegant bricks with stone window borders, the roundshaped spire and the furniture let shine through that life was concentrated on a pleasant side of life.

The salons were restored during the 18th century in a classicistic spirit by the families Cassal and Coppin.

Baron Feuillin de Coppin was born in this village. He was a member of the provisory government in 1830-1831 and became later governor of Brabant. He lived from 1800 till 1887.

The history didn't change the fact that the original function of the farm was kept alive. There are several interresting exhibitions related to this function today.
