The under part of the western tower of this three-aisled church is Romanesque, and remains from the 13th century. In 1940, the spire was dynamited to avoid that the Germans could easily target the village (thanks Paul C). In 1945 is was rebuilt with Frans De Groodt.

The nave, transept and choir are Neo-Romanesque, and were built in 1874-1880 according to Leonard Blomme's plans.
