The modernist style points to a style that found it's roots in 1920-1940. The main target was to accomplish the functionnal requirements of the building, linked to the required quality (how long should teh building last) and the form.
Often carrying skelettons were used, with flat roofs and light walls. Often, a lot of glass was used.
